An Hour with Bob Park

As a want to be leather craftsman, I have friend-ed several leather professionals on Facebook. One of them was Bob Park.
Bob wrote a book, “Creating Western Floral Design.”

I decided to purchase a copy for myself and contacted Bob trough Facebook messenger. Turns out, not only does he live in Phoenix, he’s actually less than a mile from my home.
After calling him up I made arrangements to go over to his shop /home to meet him and pick up my copy of his book.
Pulling up to his drive I was greeted by his sign hanging in front of the garage.

With a hello, he came out to meet me, shake hands and invite me into his shop. And what a nice shop it is.

We talked and discussed leather work and rodeo. Bob showed me his latest project, a show piece roper’s bag.

Did you notice the butterfly?

Overall, some outstanding beautiful work.
Here’s an older one he made years ago for himself.

After about an hour of chit chat, I felt I took up enough of his time. Paid for my book which he signed.

They’re $45 if you want a copy.

One last photo of Bob himself. Oh yea, he’s a vet too.

And off I went.

The one thing I do know is that this was my first trip to his shop, but it won’t be my last.
